Natanael Rodriguez Cuxun, of Arlington, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Snowden River Parkway near Rustling Leaf in Columbia when he was shot and later died at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to investigators.

Detectives say that a shooter fired several shots at his vehicle at around 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21 from another vehicle that fled the scene.

Cuxun was struck once, and two others inside the vehicle were uninjured. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators say that the shooting stemmed from an altercation that had happened nearby earlier on the night of the fatal shooting.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Howard County Police Department by calling (410) 313-STOP or emailing tips to HCPDcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov.
